Program Notes

The first work I published in 2009 was a percussion sextet. Three years have passed since then, and this work has returned to its origin. I realized that I was composing based on my concept, the Japanese scale.

This work has a unique sense of tension due to the Japanese tune and the splendor of taste for the simple that invites nostalgia. I used the characteristics of the musical instrument to create a melody so that the percussion instrument could express the Japanese sound.
