Program Notes

Beautifully woven melodic lines, brilliant harmonic colors and engaging percussion parts are at the heart of this dynamic concert fanfare! Strategically written cues are designed not only to replace missing parts, but to enhance ensemble tone if desired. A powerful opening statement quickly blossoms into an exciting up-tempo section that is sure to evoke a celebratory mood. A great way to announce the start of your concert!

- Program Note from publisher

In the true spirit of the fanfare, Festive Proclamation evokes feelings of celebration and accomplishment. The work begins quite heroically, soon flourishing into brisk and colorful statements. The melody line flows seamlessly through the various sections with an ever-present array of harmonic textures and percussion color.

Festive Proclamation is warmly dedicated to Ms. Pam Garmon, band director at Bailey Junior High School in Arlington, TX in honor of her retirement in 2013. The premiere performance was given in May 2014 by the BJH Band under the direction of Mr. Ken Calloway, Ms. Garmon's long-time assistant and successor.
