Program Notes

Based on the Newfoundland folk song the Feller from Fortune, this piece has been transformed from the original jig to become an energetic overture featuring a number of solo opportunities, interesting percussion parts, and some simple mixed meter work.

Performance Notes

Can be played by a minimum of five players. With parts doubling, performance is also possible for 15 players or a large band/orchestra. Percussion parts are not required but would add to the overall sound.
