Program Notes

Dedicated to Mrs. Leonard (Beryl) Falcone on the 20th anniversary of the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Competition, 2005.

- Program note from score

Fantasia di Falcone is a four-movement suite of fantasy variations composed as a showpiece for the euphonium soloist. It opens with an expressive 12-bar soliloquy that presages the dynamic, modern variations, and diversions that fully explore the moods of the euphonium.
