Program Notes

Fanfare for the Common Teenager is a single-movement piece for the school concert band. It opens with a trumpet fanfare that becomes the main theme of the piece. Rhythms and texture from the Puerto Rican bomba genre were incorporated into the piece. Also, school band students can practice music improvisation with two chords.
