Program Notes
Printemps is the first of five fanfares for the seasons. The fanfares are for the seasons set in a particular time and place. Printemp is set in the late 19th century in the Languadoc region in southern France during La Belle Epoch. Sumer is set in 5th Century Britain, Autunno in late 18th Century Italy in Tuscany, Vinter in 9th Century Scandinavia in Norway, Printemps Retour on the coast of Brittany at the Mont St. Michele, timeless.
