Program Notes
The energetic drive of flourishing woodwinds and brass fanfares drives Expedition through the excitement of the unknown. In arch form, Expedition, like a cartographer seeking to chart the details of a new land, departs from the familiar in tonal exploration. The recapitulation is a homecoming of sorts, but with the breath and magnitude of hope in searching for that which is undiscovered.
