Program Notes

The European Overture, Op.42 is an enthusiastic and amazing opening dedicated to and premiered by Jan Cober and the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra in Luxembourg, 2013. As a clarinetist member of the EUYWO (2009, 2011 and 2013), not only was Pérez Garrido fortunate enough to work with Maestro Cober and many of the most talented European young musicians but he also made a lot of good friends. This incredible experience motivated him to compose one of his most renowned works.

European Overture has recently been nominated to Jerry Goldsmith Awards at the Free Composition Category (2014).
