Program Notes

Escenas Diabólicas, Op. 29 (Diabolic Scenes) was commissioned and premiered by Murcia Youth Orchestra in 2008, Spain. The work is divided into two parts without interruption: "Invocation" and "Emergence of the Evil". In a descriptive and fearful way, the sounds of the instruments are sometimes mixed with spoken vocalizations and cries of pains. Random patterns are available for many instruments and the pressence of 13 old metronomes making a triangle inside the group creates a misterious environment.
