Program Notes

El Pato Loco (The Crazy Duck) is written in a Latin dance style. This piece represents Owens’s tribute to all wonderful, wayward, web-footed waterfowl that wander about happily and aimlessly while vying for free food. The music showcases both Latin percussion and distinctive melodies in the woodwind and brass sections.
