Program Notes

Double Take was written for Griffin Campbell (saxophone) and Brett Dietz (percussion) in 2010. The piece, in three attacca movements, makes use of the composer’s contrasting motivic cells and complex rhythmic structures. David Stock was a true supporter of contemporary music and the living composer. He was a beloved father, friend, and mentor. Tonight’s performance is dedicated to his memory.
