Program Notes

Contrasting playing styles -- along with the Dorian Mode -- make this fresh new work an outstanding addition to the young band library.

-Program notes by publisher

This piece stands out more as a pedagogical tool than a concert piece. Many young students have never heard of "Dorian Mode", and this piece gives them the chance to learn what it is and then to be able to play it. The music contains an excellent explanation at the beginning and give insight into the markings and dynamics contained in the piece. It promotes contrasting articulations and dynamics. This piece will be of great help to you as the teacher.
