Program Notes

Commissioned by the Capitol Quartet, Dialogues for Saxophone Quartet, Winds and Percussion by James Curnow features one of the most beautiful families of instruments in a vivacious, expressive, and sometimes eccentric tour-de-force for both the soloists and the ensemble. Each soloist from the quartet has an opportunity to mix their sound within the texture of the wind ensemble and, at times, display the expressive and technical characteristics of their instrument with virtuosic cadenzas.

- Program Note from liner notes of CD "American Patrol," U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band.
