Program Notes
Deck the Halls or "Deck the Hall" (which is the original version of the lyrics) is a traditional Christmas, yuletide, and New Years' carol. The melody is Welsh dating back to the sixteenth century, and belongs to a winter carol, Nos Galan, while the English lyrics, written by Thomas Oliphant, date to 1862.

Performance Notes
This score can be played by as few as four players provided each of the four parts is covered. Additionally, each "choir" within the band – woodwinds, saxophones and brass – is complete so the band director can use contrasting choirs for different sections for variety.
The B-flat clarinets form a separate complete choir. There are four B-flat clarinet lines, but clarinets 2, 3, and 4 are written below the break. If Part 1 is covered by flute, alto saxophone or trumpet, then clarinet 1 may be omitted.
