Dean Roush
Biography
Dean Roush (b. 26 January 1952, Richmond, Va.) is an American composer and educator.
Dr. Roush received a B.F.A. from Ohio University, an M.M. from Bowling Green State University, and a D.M.A. from Ohio State University.
His works have been performed throughout the United States, Europe and Israel and recorded on the Orion label.
Roush was the winner of the 2002 William D. Revelli Memorial Band Composition Contest for the work Illuminations. He is active in College Music Society, Society for Music Theory, and Society of Composers. He received the 1995 Individual Artist Fellowship in Music Composition from the Kansas Arts Commission and was composer-in-residence at the 1999 NOW New Music Festival at Capital University, Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Roush is currently professor of music and director of musicology-composition at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.
