Biography
David Mairs (b. 30 January 1943, Morristown, N.J.) is an American composer and conductor.
Mr. Mairs holds a Bachelor of Medicine degree, University Michigan, 1965; MM, University Michigan, 1966; and a Master of Divinity, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, 1983.
He began his career as a hornist with the San Antonio Symphony in 1969. He was also a Presbyterian pastor in Flint Mich., in the 1980s. Since 1988, Mr. Mairs has served as resident conductor of the San Antonio Symphony, and music director of the Mid-Texas Symphony since 1996.
