Program Notes

A highly rhythmic contemporary work in the style of the traditional Italian saltarella, this selection was first presented at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in 1999 by the Owasso High School Band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, under the direction of their conductor and the composer, David Gorham. This pieces was an instant success and, with its driving rhythms and great energy, is sure to delight bands and audiences alike.
