Program Notes

Dancing With Animals is a fun suite of pieces which depict absurd attempts at dancing by common animals. The first movement sees them enter and gather around, then one by one each of the five animals presents their uniquely awkward dance to the audience. Tango with a cow, waltz with an elephant, or take a lizard to the sock hop, you and your band will have a blast.

This piece was premiered in the summer of 2004 by the 392nd Army Band, at Fort Lee, Va., conducted by the composer.
