Program Notes
James Sudduth is the former director of bands at Texas Tech University. This was his last original composition and is both lyrically beautiful and rhythmically exciting. The piece was written to celebrate the life-long friendship of Ron and Dottie Wells with Jim and Lynda Sudduth and their respective families. The name "Rodolynji" is a subtly veiled combination of the couples’ first names and is also the name given to the family vacation cabin in the mountains of northeastern New Mexico.
