Program Notes

Beginning with a bold and majestic fanfare, Swearingen then takes the band through a succession of rich, lush harmonizations of the famous hymn before building to a magnificent ending. Includes an optional part for organ. A perfect vehicle to develop expressive playing, tone control and phrasing concepts.

Crown Him With Many Crowns was commissioned by and dedicated to the Spring Valley Academy Band, Centerville, Ohio, Donald W. Huff, director. The work was premiered on May 16, 1998, Kettering SDA Church.
