Program Notes
This work is in two contrasting movements. The first movement, Adagio molto sostenuto, in its very opening indicate the thematic material that binds the total composition. This is done by a melodic twelve-tone statement. The second section, Allegro con brio, is a kaleidoscopic antiphonal dance in 6/8, suggesting a saltarello.
