Program Notes

Pascual Marquina Narro (1873 - 1948) was a prolific Spanish orchestral and operatic composer. As a composer he is particularly known for his pasodoble works. Among these belong the Rey del Pasodoble, España cañí, and the well-known pasodobe Cielo Andaluz.This last one is now edited for a modern symphonic band by the Italian arranger Matteo Firmi.

The title translates from the Spanish as "Andalucian (or Andalusian) Sky."
