Program Notes

Celtic Fanfare and Processional is a band arrangement of the first and second movements of Journeys. Journeys was originally composed for Brass Quartet. This arrangement is ideal for the advanced junior high band or small high school band.

At the request of Sister Kathleen Sinclair, Journeys was written in celebration of the 200th Birthday of Sister Mary Frances Clarke, foundress of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The work is a celebration of the life of Mary Frances Clarke and the nearly 5000 women who shared in her vision and followed in her footsteps. Journeys is respectfully dedicated to the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
