Program Notes

The sounds of a valiant knight going into battle are heard in this powerful original by Mark Williams. Named after the famous castle in Cardiff, Wales, this selection is an excellent introduction to the modal sounds of Medieval and Celtic music.

- Program Note adapted from publisher

Cardiff Castle is a medieval castle and Victorian Gothic revival mansion located in the city centre of Cardiff, Wales. The original motte and bailey castle was built in the late 11th century by Norman invaders on top of a third-century Roman fort.
