Program Notes

Strong lyrical writing, combined with exciting rhythms and mixed meters, makes this Huckeby composition an exceptional choice for contest or concert performances. The work contains a number of short solo passages in the woodwinds and strong active percussion parts.

By the Rivers of Babylon was commissioned for and is dedicated to the 1999 Short Grass High School Honor Band, Elk City, Oklahoma.
