Program Notes

A very strong choice for concert or contest use by very young bands, this attractive James Swearingen original evokes the first battle of the Revolutionary War and provides the director with a interesting tie-in to history classes. Ranges are reasonable. Clarinets are all below the break. An excellent teaching piece, Swearingen includes all of the elements of his music which have made his compositions both so popular and playable.
