Program Notes

An opening fanfare signals the beginning of an exciting work in which alternating clarinet unison sections and brilliant brass and percussion build to a dramatic finish. Although not requiring great band technical facility, this work displays the band beautifully.

Brookpark Overture was commissioned by and dedicated to the Brookpark Middle School Symphonic Band, Grove City, Ohio, Jim Johnson, director.
