Brian Spicklemire
Biography
Brian Spicklemire (b. 1986, Terre Haute, Ind.) is an American composer, percussionist, and private lesson teacher.
Brian graduated from Bradley University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in music business and Bachelor of Music in composition, where he studied composition with Dr. Stephen Heinemann. In 2012 he completed his master's of music in composition at Butler University, where he studied composition with Dr. Michael Schelle.
An active percussionist and drum set player, Brian studied percussion with Peggy Bonner at Bradley where he played drum set with Bradley Jazz Ensemble, the Jazz Combo and Percussion Ensemble, writing and arranging pieces for each group. While at Butler, Brian played with the Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Percussion Ensemble, and Composer's Orchestra, and studied percussion with Craig Hetrick and Jon Crabiel. Brian is currently principal percussion for the Prairie Wind Ensemble.
He is the manager at Kidder Music Service in Peoria, Ill and the Front Ensemble instructor for Morton High School. He continues to write and maintains an active performing schedule and private studio.
