Commissioned by the Perry Middle School Band, Perry, Kansas, Michael Maloun, director. Dedicated in memory of Heather Leonardi.

Ballade is a poignant work dedicated in memory of Heather Leonardi, a sixth-grade, second-year band student who was diagnosed with cancer and tragically passed away later that year. The work is meant to bring back all of the happy and special memories for all of those fortunate enough to have known her.
