Program Notes
Arctic Landscapes was inspired by the vast expansive landscapes of the arctic as well as the blustering cold winds. The piece begins mysteriously and quietly before a sudden tempo change that drives the piece into the expanses of the landscapes. After a reflective slower middle section the piece returns to its central driving theme and continues to build to a large fanfare-like ending.
