Program Notes

Programmatic in nature, the quiet opening creates an ethereal effect, featuring an alto saxophone solo that develops into a tuneful and poignant legato theme. The second half of the piece presents a total contrast to the opening, featuring a rhythmic and driving allegro that builds leads up to the rousing conclusion.
