Program Notes

Haunting sounds hint at legends of the Emerald Isle in this beautiful Celtic setting based on the traditional Irish tune St. Patrick's Breastplate. The delicate woodwind opening leads into a powerful statement of the theme by the entire band. The sonorous brass brings the piece to a climax, then the music fades into the gentle rolling green hills.
