-Program Note from publisher

An American Celebration was written in 2005 at the request of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, to serve as a patriotic finale for its Independence Day concert. The third movement of this extended work concludes with an arrangement of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. This is a celebratory work in words and music befitting any patriotic celebration. What more could any red-blooded American want than this fabulous medley of truly American songs? All the color and pageantry of the Armed Forces Day weekend are appropriate in this exciting arrangement.
