Program Notes

Though famous for his extraordinary achievements in composing music for films, John Williams also composed and recorded several albums with the Boston Pops Orchestra, including a collection of favorite Americana, America, The Dream Goes On. Included in this marvelous collection was this tune, which shares the name of the collection, co-written with acclaimed lyricists, Alan and Marilyn Bergman. This singable arrangement by John Higgins and Paul Lavender will make a fine addition to any concert.
