Program Notes

AirLink takes its title from the 700-mile flights the composer takes to visit his fiancee several times a month. This turbulent ride is an unstructured set of thematic variations which include fugues and canons. Several soloists are featured in the middle section. Melodic material from the middle section returns at the end of the work in a majestic statement by the full ensemble.
