Program Notes

Written in a classic overture style, this attractive piece was the composer's first, written at the age of 15. Recent revisions have resulted in a work that features a dignified allegro, a flowing andante, interesting lines for each instrument, effective dynamic contrasts, stately percussion writing, and two-part scoring for clarinet and trumpet.
