Program Notes

The Isle of Skye is perhaps one of the most beautiful places on earth. Rugged and magical, it is the largest of the Inner Hebrides and home to some of Scotland's most iconic views. It has long captured my imagination and once I researched the name Rhea, I knew I was going to compose a work that fit both the genealogy of the name and my dream of writing music inspired by its scenery.

It is a work full of imagery and certain to capture the imaginations of player and audiences alike.

Commissioned by the Texas A & M University Bands in recognition of Dr. Timothy Rhea in honor of his 25th year as conductor of the Texas A & M University Wind Symphony
