Program Notes

An exciting and appealing composition at the medium easy level that features Huckeby’s popular style of changing meters and lively syncopation. The slow section features a short solo for oboe (cued in other instruments) and a nice solo section for flute.

Accolada was commissioned by the East Central Oklahoma Band Directors Association for the 1996 ECBDA High School Honor Band and dedicated to the memory of Jerry Howard.
